Acquisition Announcement

Trafford, PA – May 24, 2016 – Cleaveland/Price announces that they have come to an agreement for acquisition of Reliatronics Inc., of Johnson City, TX. Reliatronics is a designer and manufacturer of remote terminal units (RTU) used primarily in the electric utility industry. Reliatronics RTU’s are noted for their small footprint and low power consumption and have been integrated into many Cleaveland/Price switch controllers.

Rae Sweeney, Cleaveland/Price president stated, “We are excited about the opportunities that will open up as a result of bringing Reliatronics into our company. We have number of products that we will be able to pursue given the expertise that Reliatronics will contribute.” Added Pete Kowalik, Cleaveland/Price vice-president and engineering manager, “Cleaveland/Price has worked closely with Reliatronics over the last 20+ years jointly supplying equipment to many utility customers. This closeness and common market led to the combining of efforts to design and manufacture a high voltage power line sensor (LineScope). The synergistic joining of the two companies creates a design and production team with greater capability to respond to new Smart Grid market needs.”

Hershel Roberson, president of Reliatronics, will continue with Cleaveland/Price in a product development role. Regarding the acquisition, Mr. Roberson observed, ” Reliatronics and Cleaveland/Price have probably done a hundred projects together and they have been great to work with. I have always been impressed by Cleaveland/Price’s engineering expertise, and with the family oriented culture of the company. I know that the products we have developed will be in good hands.”

Cleaveland/Price will be fully absorbing Reliatronics into its organization, however, will be maintaining the Reliatronics brand name for the RTUs.

Cleaveland/Price Receives Top Workplace Award

TWP_Pittsburgh_Portrait_2015_AWCleaveland/Price has been awarded a 2015 Top Workplaces honor by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few.

“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits.” says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”

In the award standings, Cleaveland/Price had the highest position among mid-sized companies in the manufacturing sector; a status that pleased company president, Mrs. Rae Sweeney.   “Receiving a 2015 Top Workplace award is very important to our company.  To maintain a competitive edge in our industry, we need to attract the best and the brightest individuals who will mesh with our culture of caring and striving for continuous improvement.  This award helps to give us greater visibility to this pool of prospective employees.”

Cleaveland/Price was also cited in a supplemental article about building company culture.
